Taking out Masters at Mambo
last year, Best....Sharing a huge wave @ Gnaraloo with
your mates.
Fastest
Wavesail in the World ? Spotty hits 40 knots on 4.7
Kaos
Conditions
were not perfect at Sandy Point this weekend, never
the less it was blowing 30 to 40 knots.
In the past I had hit a few peak speeds up to 35 knots
on my '05 Acid 94. I thought that was as good as it
gets.
This day the wave gear set up was working better than
expected well and was able to grind out a few 38 knot
GPS peaks. With everything smoking I settled into the
conditions and started pushing harder.
The 2002 4.7 Kaos held remarkably stable and eventually
took me over 40 knots. A testament that KA sails have
been delivering great performance for quite some time.
The only thing that let up a little was the stock 240
Acid wave fin which had a damaged tip.
So one aim now is to get the wave gear 10sec average
over 40 knots which seems possible in better conditions.
Currently from researching the top 40 world rankings
at gps-speedsurfing.com it seems this is the only full
wave gear setup (world ranked at 36th, Australia 9th)
that has reached such speeds, all other competitors
were on speed slalom setups.
So with the 2007 Koncepts arrival and a new speed board
under foot I intend to get another KA into the top ten
gps-speedsurfing rankings.
Cheers
Spotty
