Predator 1998

Redesigned and improved for '98, the PREDATOR is now a 5 batten single cam in the smaller sizes, and a twin cam in the larger sizes. The tight sleeve ensures minimal water retension. Delivers plenty of smooth, controllable power in any conditions - flat water blasting to bump & jump wavesailing.

Designer: Ben Severne

Target Market: Intermediate & Advanced Slalom / Wave. Freeride. Progressing sailors.

Rig Requirements: Correct mast an advantage. Constant Curve mast as per individual sail specifications.

Design Brief: Highly versatile performance.

Design Overview: A major revamp to provide even more freeride fun. High performance five batten layout with two cam’s in large sizes to lock draft forward and give great control. Tuned luff sleeve optimises speed while maintaining versatility.

Great top end when set for slalom or speed. Softer wave profile easily achieved by removing bottom camber in the smaller sizes. Very easy to rig. Lightweight yet strong with narrow luff pocket for excellent water drainage. Easy to waterstart.

Materials: Best quality, 175 micron monofilm. X-Ply / Dacron. Triple taped X-seams. Double layered batten pockets. High quality tapered Vinylester tubed battens. Cam lock batten tensioners with non slip webbing. Integrated 6:1 downhaul. Quick thread outhaul for easy on water adjustment.

Tuning: Moderate downhaul. High variation outhaul adjustment for wide range.
