09 Sails "hit the spot"

The 09 sails have only been unleashed for a few weeks now but they are already generating alot of interest and receiving high praise. The Ambassadors and Team riders are unanimous in claiming the 09's as a noticeable step forward from the 08's. In fact KA Chief Designer Andrew McDougall grabbed a spanking new Koncept 5.8 out of it's shipping box 20 minutes before the start of the annual Breakwater to Beacon 16 km race last Sunday. Hastily rigging it he just made the start, but on his return exhausted yet smiling, his first words were.."that sail is so, so good!!"

Here's what a few others have had to say.

Chris and Pete unraveled their new 6.6's yesterday.  You should be
commended because the sails look so much better in the flesh than in
the pics and renderings. The quality, of both material and
manufacturing appears to be a marked improvement over previous years.
Might even need to get some...................

Cheers

Thanks Andrew. I've received it.(Wide tail carbon boom)
I sailed with it yesterday on the new 7.5 Koncept. Great boom and awesome sail. The sail felt fantastic – so smooth and powerful. I racked up 117km's on it effortlessly. It rigged perfectly with no wrinkles or creases, and gybed very smoothly also. Can't wait to try the others.

Many Thanks.

Hi Andrew, just got in from a 2 hour sail with the 09 KA 10.7.
I rigged it up and it looked perfect straight away. No wrinkles and the new wide luff sleeve looked fantastic. On the water the sail was hooting, it felt really well balanced and it wasnt that windy. Looks like it has heaps of range and plenty of power.
So Andrew well done you have done it again.

Great work.
Regards Steve.(Steve Charles)

Just had a fang with Chris and the new sails, well the 6.6 anyway, and
it is a subtle but worthy improvement over the '08's, it seemed to
have much more tension where it is required and as a result,  felt
more stable and lighter in the hands.

Look forward to trying the 7.5 and the 5.8

Cheers all round!!
